I’m a classical oil painter, and inside MazArt Academy I share the methods I use to create realistic paintings built on tone, colour, and strong fundamentals.
MazArt Academy is where I share the way I work — using carefully chosen references, underpainting, and a consistent palette to build paintings that feel solid and believable. Members work through inspiring painting projects step by step, building confidence naturally as each painting develops.
Projects cover a wide range of subjects including portraits, pets, still life, landscapes, and florals — all using the same core principles. This keeps the process repeatable and far less overwhelming as your confidence grows.
You don’t need formal training to begin. Each project is designed to guide you step by step, with clear reference material to download, structured demonstrations, and a method you can rely on every time you sit down to paint.
Most members don’t rush through the lessons. They choose a project that inspires them, paint it over a few sessions or evenings, share their progress inside the community, and then move on to the next one. Over time those small paintings build into real confidence — portraits of grandchildren, beloved pets, favourite places — pieces people are proud to hang on their walls or give as gifts.

What is included in a membership?
Monthly All Access gives you full access to the MazArt Academy library.
You’ll have instant, unlimited access to the complete collection of oil painting projects and courses — including beginner and intermediate pet & portraits — with over 500 hours of real-time teaching available to explore at your own pace.
Your membership also includes access to live painting sessions. These are recorded and added to the library, so you can watch live or return to them later whenever it suits you.
You’ll be part of a private, members-only community where you can share your work, ask questions, and connect with other painters. Feedback is available when you want it, without any pressure to post or keep up.
Our community is hosted inside the Academy and off Facebook, so you can focus on painting without distractions.
There are no contracts, and you can manage or cancel your membership at any time via your account. The welcome Tour shows you how to do this.
The annual plan offers the best value for long-term access.
You’ll save 25% compared to paying monthly, working out at the equivalent of £15 per month.

Can I pause my membership instead of cancelling?
Yes. If you need a short break, you can pause your membership rather than cancelling.
You can pause your membership for up to three months, once per billing cycle (monthly or annual).
While your membership is paused, access to the Academy is temporarily suspended. You can reactivate at any time, including before the pause period ends.
If you’re on an annual plan, any paused time is added to the end of your membership, so you don’t lose any of the time you’ve paid for.
This option is available if you need a break but would like to maintain your place in the Academy.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time from My Account → Purchases. The Welcome Tour Guide shows where to find this if you need a reminder.
Monthly memberships renew automatically on the same date each month. If you don’t wish to continue, please cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged again. Any unused time is non-refundable.
Annual memberships renew once per year. You’ll receive a reminder email 30 days before renewal. If needed, you can cancel before the renewal date. Unused time is also non-refundable.
Can I buy classes one at a time?
No — MazArt Academy is membership-only, with the exception of my flagship Portrait and Pet Portrait courses, which are also available as standalone purchases.
This allows the Academy library to remain curated, organised, and continually updated,. All courses, painting projects, live replays, and the MazArt community are included for active members.
Membership is flexible and fully managed from your account. If you ever need a break, or life gets too busy, you can pause your membership and return when it suits you. The Welcome Tour shows how to manage everything at any time.
Some members join to focus on a particular painting or subject, while others stay longer and work through the library over time.
Can I buy the Pet Portrait and Portrait courses separately?
Yes. My flagship Pet Portrait and Portrait courses are available as standalone purchases. (Beginners & Intermediate)
These courses are also part of the MazArt Academy curriculum, but because many students take a year or more to work through them, I’ve made them available as a one-time purchase so you can learn at your own pace without any time pressure. Once purchased, you keep lifetime access to the course.
Standalone purchases do not include access to the private MazArt Academy community or critique, which are reserved for active members only.
However, you’re always welcome to share your work in the comments section under the course videos, or inside the MazArt Tribe Facebook group, where I regularly see and comment on students’ paintings.
Can I use My Mobile Device?
Yes, you can watch the videos on your phone or mobile device. Additionally, you have the option to AirPlay them directly to a smart TV for a larger viewing experience. Enjoy the flexibility of accessing our content from anywhere.
