I’m Marion Dutton, and MazArt Academy is where I teach classical oil painting without the overwhelm.

This is an oil-painting academy built on traditional principles: drawing, tonal accuracy, underpainting, layering, glazing, and confident brushwork. We work the way painters always have—slow where it matters, deliberate with every decision, and focused on building paintings that feel solid and intentional.

Inside the Academy, everything is taught in oils (or water mixable oils). Lessons are rooted in classical realism and tonalism, covering subjects such as landscapes, still life, florals, pets, birds, and portraits. The library holds over 500 hours of real-time tutorials, designed to be painted along with—not skimmed or rushed. You’ll learn how to see values clearly, control colour, and understand why each stage matters, whether you’re working in layers or painting wet-into-wet where the subject allows.

Membership also includes a private, off-Facebook community where you can share your work, ask questions, and receive direct, practical feedback from me. Monthly live sessions give you ongoing structure and accountability, with teaching that builds skills over time rather than chasing quick results.
